I have a buddy in the home building industry that got a bonus of ...

7 FIGURES in 2019. And he runs their IT and is not in sales. I have many friends who routinely get 6 figure bonuses but almost all of them are tied to sales figures though they aren't considered 'commissions' because there are other factors at play.

It can be frustrating for people like me that are tied to a desk for 9-10 hours per day and almost never get a bonus to see these dudes that play golf and attend conferences a couple of days per week getting these massive bonuses. However, as I have been told many times, I could have chosen sales.
